ABOUT THE APPRAISAL INSTITUTE AND THE HAWAII CHAPTER

On January 1, 1991, the unification of two leading appraisal organizations, the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, created what we today call the Appraisal Institute. It is an international membership association of professional real estate appraisers, with more than 18,000 members and 99 chapters throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Its mission is to support and advance its members as the choice for real estate solutions and uphold professional credentials, standards of professional practice and ethics consistent with the public good.

The Hawaii Chapter of the Appraisal Institute has 76 designated members and 100 associate and affiliate members. The chapter membership consists of appraisers and appraisal related professionals from the islands of Hawaii, Maui, Oahu and Kauai, within the state of Hawaii; Guam, an unincorporated territory of the United States; and Saipan, the capitol of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
